La Vie en Rose

La Vie en Rose

My father would tell me I saw the world through rose colored glasses. My response? Dad, this is how some people live, and I am going to be one of those people. What better place to confirm my belief in la Dolce Vita than Ristorante Rosa in my once-and-only home, Camogli?

For those of you who don’t know this little corner of paradise, all I can say is, the food is as good as the view.

Maria Rosa Costa, restaurateur and force of nature

This is the lady who makes it all happen, and boy does she ever! Rosa is a social media whiz – check out her FB page.

Rosa knows how to make things happen, the restaurant is a cultural gathering place for writers, photographers, journalists, musicians. She is not a solo act, she is a true chef, a maestro, she brings people, culture, food and wine together. Now that’s what I call talent!

IMG_3210On this lovely evening – don’t believe me? Take a look at the terrace! – there was a get-together for the Donne del Vino, the prestigious Italian association of women who work in the world of wine.

The evening was dedicated to the wines of Vis Amoris and the lovely Rossana Zappa who produces them. This is what they call a ‘mono-vitigno’ or a one variety vineyard: PIGATO!

Here’s just a sample of what we ate.

A sampling of antipasto… You ain’t seen nothing yet!

How can you go wrong when the food is called clouds and the wine is called dream?

Needless to say, a good time was had by all. Here you see the Ligurian delegate for the Association Donne del Vino, Valeria Fazio, together with Rosa, Rossana, and… yours truly!
