She’s back!!!!
Did you miss me as much as I’ve missed you? And as much as I’ve missed gallivanting about through the vineyards? Or tasting in the company of friends, fellow wine-lovers, producers, and not in front of a computer screen, peering into that black mirror trying to grasp some sense of soul?

It’s been a long, hard, lonely winter… and spring… but summer has given us new hope. And autumn is on the way. And with it, the harvest which is about to begin… or has begun for some vintages… Vendemmia. Vendange. It’s time.
Time to reconnect. Time to get back to the Italian Grapevine and tell you what I’ve been up to, talk about wineries and wines and the people who make them. Because just as soon as that lockdown was lifted, we hit the road – masks on!
But before the lockdown, we were still merrily tasting our way through wine fairs, meeting and greeting producers, getting to know new wines. During our winter of discontent, it didn’t seem right to write.

So I’ll be kicking off with a Tuscan quintet – making up for lost time and lost posts. And that means you’ll be seeing a lot of me…. once a week during this harvest season!
In the meantime, here’s a window on my world:
there have been flowers
and hillsides,
fields of grapevines,
with yours truly hiding in the vines…
and sunsets….
And wine. Plenty of wine.
Please, don’t forget to order your favorite Italian wines, no matter what region they’re from. If you can’t get to a restaurant, get out that cookbook and uncork a bottle – it will help you be a better chef!
Welcome back to the magic of Italy. A presto, amici miei! Glad to be back!
