It’s official: Vinitaly 2015 is off and running. Just like every year, the sneak preview comes with Opera Wine, the kick-off event sponsored by Wine Spectator and Vinitaly. Held at the elegant Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Piazza Bra, it features 100 Italian vintages chosen as this year’s ‘Finest Italian Wines’.
I like the stylized version of the Arena of Verona with the gold bottle, very 1920s.
What can I say? I’ll be schmoozin’ and boozin’ for the next four days. This is the happening place for people in the wine world.
Take a few sips, evaluate, meet the producers, meet the people who communicate wine, watch the trends… What more could you want?
